After a while, when the client has shown growth and ability to stand on their own without the support, the program also teaches them how to do Jenny Craig meal planning at home.

How does one do this? First, you need to buy yourself a weighing scale. An electronic one is preferable because it shows your weight to the last point which makes it more accurate and easier to track your weight loss.

Once you have your weight recorded, you can then calculate the number of calories you should be eating each day to lose weight. Using an online BMI calculator is also advised. Get yourself linked to a weight loss friend, a dietitian or counselor. Someone who will be there for you whenever you needed them. As mentioned earlier, having someone who believes in you and relates to your struggles is very important in making any positive progress.

You should be able to have a set amount of time, say 20 minutes each day, where you meet and talk with your weight loss partner about your progress. By doing this, not only will you have an accountability partner who will always keep you in track and help you if you slipped, you will also have the motivation to do better because no one likes being a disappointment.

The next and maybe most important thing is to stock up on the low-calorie foods. Throw away all the high calorie and high fat foods in your house and anything over-processed. Remember the program does not ban any type of food, but chemical and synthetic products are not qualified as food. Instead buy and keep in large quantities whole foods, low dairy foods, fruits and vegetables of your liking, proteins such as lentils and black beans, nuts, chicken preferably skinless, canned fish and water.

You should then try as much as possible to cook these foods in very little oil. Deep frying should be in very limited occasions if any. The next step then is to take the calorie chart that you made when you recorded your weight and divide it into 6 meals that you will be taking throughout the day. For example, if the calories that you are required to take to lose weight are a day, then you are supposed to make 6 meals, each carrying calories and eat them.

A day has twenty-four hours, but are for sleeping so you will be working with roughly 18 hours. This means that the 6 meals should have a three-hour spacing. You can choose to have all the meals with the uniform number of calories or, make some meals like breakfast heavier than day time snacks. You can start with as little as 20 minutes and work your way up gradually. The trick is to be consistent and disciplined. At this point it is advisable to have a food journal where you can be recording what you had for every meal and whether you stuck to the calories.

You can also record the length of time you exercised and what specific workouts you did. This is important to keep yourself on track and to also monitor your progress.

You should also toss anything that might trigger you to snack or eat more than you should. Make sure to keep in constant communication with your health partner and dietitian being absolutely open with them. It is better to admit that you failed or slipped than to act like everything is fine while in real facts you are failing.

Using these steps, apparently, will give you your very own Jenny Craig at home. Does this diet program work? At the high cost of the diet plan, will we actually lose weight? According to WebMD many people can attest to the fact that the plan worked for them. The plan also works great for vegetarians and those that do not consume gluten since there are a variety of options. However, the diet is not good for vegans because almost all the prepackaged foods have some levels of dairy in them.

I cant wait until I get to week 3 and can exercise again! If you are considering this- consider it for at least a month. Yes it is expensive but if you add up all the money you spend on groceries plus fast food, snacks drinks- they add up. I wish i had found this program years ago!

I was on this diet for 3 months. Started at and now i am down to I have stopped eating their food since december and have not gained a pound, but have been slowly losing it. Not some miracle diet. Or it could be the fact that im 19 and all medifast did was kickstart my metabolism and teach me some portion control. For all those who have been on the Medifast Diet and have lost a lot of weight, go get a HIDA Scan done to check your gallbladder function.

PLEASE, go get that gallbladder function test done after losing large amounts of weight to make sure your gallbladder is still functioning!!!!! Those of us with weight problems will likely struggle for the rest of our lives.

Your more or less have to stay on a diet permanently. Losing weight quickly makes you feel good and keeps you motivated. Once you get past the first week you feel great. I eliminated all my stomach problems and was in a great mood most of the time.

I love the scrambled eggs, with a lil bit of pepper and salsa but you have to whisk them before cooking not only mix with a fork , same for the chocolate pudding…whisk well, and plaze in the freezer not the fridge for 30 minutes, so creamy and delicious! My fav shakes are the whey protein ones, like the dark chocolate shake, I add ice, and a tbsp of Black Cherry sugar free syrup which you are allowed to and blend it, super yummie, my coworker tried it and she said she would drink it without being on the plan!

I also like the Cinnamon apple oat meal, I add a little brown sugar splenda and a bit of cinnamon powder…very good. The trick with the soups is to let thme soak… at least 30 minutes. My favorite soup is the Wild rice, I add a bit of Tabasco and black pepper…wonderful and filling! You have to stick to the plan EXACTELY…no piece of fruit here and there and no cheating, it is not good to take your body in and out of the mild kitosis Medifast puts you in.

You re-learn how to eat and what a portion is really suppose to be. No miracle, nothing will work, not even surgery, if you go back to your old habits! Good luck to you! Food is not that great and is very expensive. Medifast Staff is rude. Can not even have fruit or high carb veggies like peas. So it is hard to follow for more than a couple of months.

Weight gained back very quickly even following up with a low calorie plan. It must have something to do with maintaining low carbs or starting to eat carbs slowly.

There is no mercy with this plan. You follow it exactly or you GAIN weight. Can not workout any more than 45 minutes a day or you will not loose weight. If you have to loose a lot of weight fast, go for it. But be very careful coming off or you will gain more than you lost.

I am strictly following the diet and I can say that I am not hungry!!! I have begun lightly working out the last 3 days.

I have honestly not felt better. I would highly reccomend it! My weekly visits with my dedicated personal consultant were very good, although right now, I'm not doing it because I'm waiting for the fall. But I'm going back to Jenny Craig. I just have to budget because it's kinda expensive. Nonetheless, I'd recommend them.

I like my consumption with their program and their food is good. They're not acidic, so my stomach doesn't get all messed up.

Furthermore, my consultant is the sweetest girl and we became really good friends. She's trying to help me to keep on track. Also, she's always worried that I exercise and I do whatever's necessary to lose the weight. She texts me and we go to her office. There, I lose my stuff then I get weighted. She asks me about my week and how it went. Then we get a menu and leave for home. In terms of the quality of their food, most of it is nice. Jenny Craig did a lot of changes with their food.

Still, I like them much more and I have my own personal favorite. They have integrated in the last three years and they've tried it to be a little bit more modern with our food.

The program is good and when I followed the program as it should be, I was losing the weight an average of two pounds a week. The problem is that if I go off it I don't lose any. When I first started their program, I was very focused and I lost 30 pounds. But over the years, losing weight is just not my main goal right now but it is not to gain weight. So when I'm off it, I gain weight. But if I followed the regimen I'll lose weight and I'll do great.

I was on Jenny Craig years and years ago, back in the early 80s. I have always liked the program and the food, and I knew it worked for me, so I went back to it. They got me all set up and they weighed me in, measured me, encouraged me, and gave me my food. I show up for the weekly visits with my dedicated personal consultant and we weigh in and we talk about the week, the challenges, obstacles, things I can do, and plan for the week ahead, and then I grab my food.

I like all the different menu plans and they have more options. I like all the Mexican food. I like the program quite a bit. When I first joined, I had a program where I got a discount on my food weekly, which helped out significantly. And when I started going back again, that program was no longer in existence. But recently, they started where you could pay X amount of money to get a discount and get part of your money back a year after you reach your goal.

Since they brought that discount program back, they would have allowed anybody who has previously been on it to be grandfathered in. It was a positive experience and if you work the plan, it works. I was totally disgusted! If it could happen to one of their foods it could happen to many more. Whose head did it come from? Do they have any diseases? I contacted Jenny Craig Corp. Their response was a pro forma apology and an offer to replace the food item. The thought of biting into any of their food makes me want to vomit! I replied that this was not a satisfactory response and they should ensure the public was aware of the possibility of finding foreign objects in their food.

I got no response. I then sent email requesting a full refund of my investment into their program since at no fault of mine I was unable to eat their food. A week later I got a special delivery from UPS. Inside was another pro forma letter stating Jenny Craig meets food quality standards. Please be aware that if you purchase food from Jenny Craig it is standard to find things in their food Very poor customer service. My serious concern was dealt with by a pro forma letter.

Their personal consultant has always been very good and very easy to deal with no judgments. We go in and talk about how the week went and we weigh in.

Then, we talk about both for the next week and go through the menu and a way to go. They have four different menus. The quality of the meals is very good and some are better than others. I felt that it was a really affordable down payment option, since the other programs cost thousands of dollars to join. The food was delicious although some were better than the others. The frozen food was much more endurable than the pantry items.

There were some things that you microwave, like the pot roast, and I didn't find them as enjoyable. For the frozen foods and the cinnamon rolls, the recipes improved but some other things went downhill. They changed the pizza and the blueberry pancakes and they were not as good. On the other hand, they bring out new foods periodically and that is very important for a program like that. It was a very positive thing for me as the food gets tired after being on the same thing.

The kept introducing new things, like the pumpkin muffins. But with anybody who has a weight problem, it is not because they like food. In my case, there were a lot of emotional things that trigger food interaction and it was a very real situation. So giving somebody food is not enough. People need more time. Some are flying high and they don't need it but when you have something real going on, to put everybody in the same boat of a minute window is not realistic.

When someone has a weight problem, you gotta get in when you can get in. But overall, Jenny Craig was good and I've recommended some people to go there. The people who work there are always very polite and professional.

I had the best leader over at the center and Jillian was really what kept me going back. They tried to stick me with other people and the other girls were nice but Jillian was the best. She knew about the program and was very professional. I was back and forth the program quite a few times in a period of one year and a half and it worked for me when I worked hour days.

It was very difficult to date and interact, and be on Jenny Craig. My leader was supportive of what other options I could do to substitute but it got very hard and expensive to have this type of program and also have to cook meals for somebody else. I have used other weight loss programs too. I've been to Weight Watchers but I'm one of those people that need structure and Jenny Craig is a little more structured. I go in at a certain time, same time each day, each week and I chat a little bit with my personal consultant.

If I've got some difficulties, we go over some menus. It's a little more personal with the one-on-one rather than with Weight Watchers where I'm in a group. I sometimes wish they had new products coming out a little more often though because when you have been on it for a long time, you get a little tired of some of the foods. But for the most part, the menu plan is pretty good.

During lunches, I like to have whatever sandwich, a turkey burger or a grilled chicken sandwich because I don't get a lot of bread, so it's nice to have something. Their dinners are all pretty good too. I like the home-style turkey and mashed potato dinner really well. Also, their staff is friendly and they're pretty accommodating for the meeting times.

The plan works if you follow it. My husband and I did it together, so it worked well for us. I've lost about 23 pounds and I've been happy with it. I would recommend Jenny Craig if you wanted to lose a few pounds. It's a commitment and it's expensive, so you gotta make sure you can do it. We love hearing about your Jenny Craig experience! I got into Jenny Craig for convenience. But the first rep I worked with was on her last week there so she wasn't very motivating and she really didn't give me a lot of details.

But I decided to join anyway. Once she officially left I was assigned to another person. The new rep have tips and ideas. She was more detailed and gave me a little bit more coaching. She was very concerned about what might be coming up that I might find challenging.

What I also liked about Jenny Craig is that it's pre-planned. I just pull everything out in the morning and I know that's what I'm going to have for the day. There will always gonna be something you don't like foodwise but you can switch a couple of things around as long as they're equal calorie or value. But I like most of the breakfast that they have and there's a variety of things I really like.

I don't usually switch too much. The things I don't like are the ones that are not frozen, like they have a lot of preservatives so I always switch to the alternate for that. It doesn't feel like I'm eating the same thing all the time.

They all have different flavors and that's important. If you're having a cheeseburger it tastes pretty good and then if you're having pot roast, it tastes like real pot roast. It's not that bad. Everything is very limited. It's a lot of money per week because I typically get the whole menu and that is a very expensive venture. They probably would have more customers if it wasn't so expensive. Thankfully I'm able to afford that but it's just a lot of money and I don't even eat all of the dessert and I haven't gotten a lot of the snacks because I don't always need them at this point because my stomach shrunk and I'm not that hungry.

I'm losing very slow but that's me personally. Other people are losing faster and I'm sure it works for them differently but I followed a program and I'm averaging about a pound a week. Also they place a lot of calls if you don't come or you're planning on something and you go away for a week.

I told them I was gonna be away for a wedding and that I would contact them when I got back but they kept calling me until I called them. But I get that it's a marketing thing and then that they have to keep track so it's not disturbing.

And I go every week and whenever I schedule I don't typically cancel but if I was one of those people that canceled all the time they would probably hassle me to death.
